Terms of Service

Last updated 17 September 2026 · Effective for all LB Development products listed below
Who "we" is: LB Development is operated by Liam Burnett, an individual based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia — not a registered company. There's no separate legal entity behind the name.

What this covers: the LB Dev homepage (lbdev.app) and LB Tools (tools.lbdev.app), Pit Wall (the FTC robotics team hub), Login Panel ("Sign in with LB Development" and the sites that use it), the shared contact-form/Discord webhook API, and any future LB Development product, including an in-development Scouts-focused tool (working name SFOS) — collectively, the "Services."

What this doesn't cover: client work built and hosted for someone else's business — e.g. the Steady Path Support website — is that client's own service, under its own terms. This document only covers products LB Development itself operates and controls.

01Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account, signing in, submitting a form, or otherwise using any of the Services, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the Services. If you're using a Service on behalf of a team, troop, school, or organisation, you're confirming you have the authority to accept these terms for that use.

02Eligibility, age, and using this through a team/troop/school

You must be at least 13 years old to create your own account, in line with the minimum age requirements of the underlying services we build on (Firebase/Google, Discord). If you're under 18, you should have the involvement or awareness of a parent, guardian, coach, mentor, or troop/team leader before signing up.

Some Services are specifically built for youth-oriented contexts:

These Services are tools for coordinating team or troop activity — they are not a substitute for your school's, team's, or Scout group's own working-with-children, supervision, or safeguarding processes. We don't verify anyone's age or identity beyond what Firebase Authentication itself checks, and responsibility for appropriate consent and supervision of any member under 18 sits with the school, team, or Scout group running that account, not with us.

03Accounts and "Sign in with LB Development"

Some Services require an account (created directly, or via Login Panel's "Sign in with LB Development"). You agree to:

Login Panel also acts as an identity provider: other LB Development sites can offer "Sign in with LB Development," and you'll always see a consent screen listing exactly what that site will receive (your name/photo, your email, or — for LB Development's own admin tooling only — admin access) before anything is shared. You can review and revoke any connected site at any time from your Login Panel account settings.

04Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may suspend or remove access for anyone who breaches this section — see Suspension and termination.

05Team, troop, and shared group data

Pit Wall (and, in future, SFOS) share data among everyone on the same team: robot profile, scouting notes, chat history, and notebook entries are visible to every member of that team, under their own individual login. Team Roster lets any member edit or remove any other member, with one enforced rule: a team must always keep at least one Owner. We don't mediate disputes between members of the same team about who should have access to what — that's for the team to manage using the roles and roster tools provided.

Only one Pit Wall team can exist per real FTC team number. If you leave a team or delete your own account, the team's shared data stays intact for remaining members.

06AI-powered features

Pit Wall's AI chat, engineering-notebook feedback, and event analysis are generated by a third-party large language model (currently Groq), given context drawn from your own team's data (robot profile, scouting log, notebook entries). AI output is:

Don't paste anything into an AI chat or feedback field that you wouldn't want processed by a third-party AI provider (see the Privacy Policy for exactly how that data is handled).

07Third-party services we rely on

The Services are built on top of several third-party platforms, each with their own terms and their own uptime, and none of which we control: Firebase/Google Cloud (authentication and databases), Cloudflare (hosting, Workers, Turnstile bot protection), Cloudinary (file storage), Groq (AI inference), Discord (webhook relaying of contact-form and email-in messages), FIRST's FTC Events API and FTCScout (public competition data), and Cloudflare Email Routing/Workers `send_email` (sending and receiving email). If one of these goes down, changes its API, or changes its own terms, the relevant feature may be degraded or unavailable, and we aren't liable for that beyond what's set out in Disclaimers and limitation of liability below.

08Your content

You keep ownership of what you submit (robot profiles, scouting notes, notebook entries, chat messages, contact-form messages, uploaded photos/documents). By submitting it, you give us a licence to store, process, and display it back to you and — where a feature is explicitly shared, like team data or an AI feature that needs it as context — to the people or systems that feature is designed to share it with. We don't sell your content, and we don't use it to train our own models.

09Availability, cost, and changes to the Services

The Services are currently provided free of charge, as a personal/hobby project (and, for Pit Wall, originally a school assessment project). We may add, change, or remove features, or introduce a paid tier in future, and we'll give reasonable notice if we do. We don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

10Suspension and termination

We may suspend or disable an account that breaches these terms, poses a security risk, or is inactive for an extended period, and we'll try to tell you why where practical. You can stop using the Services, or request deletion of your own account, at any time — see the Privacy Policy for exactly what deletion does and doesn't remove.

11Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent the law allows. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all liability for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Services.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law (or any other law) that can't lawfully be excluded. Where a guarantee can't be excluded but our liability can be limited, our liability is limited to re-supplying the relevant Service.

12Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against any claim, loss, or expense arising from your breach of these terms or misuse of the Services, except to the extent it was caused by our own negligence or breach.

13Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.

14Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the Services change. We'll update the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we'll make a reasonable effort to flag it in-app or by email. Continuing to use the Services after a change means you accept the update.
